My baby savannah monitor usually runs for his hidding spots when he sees me how would i calm him down?

i feed him in his cage but when i feed him out of it he wont eat

change his water everyday and give him some mealworms from your hand and soon he will realise you are not a threat and after a while he may let you pet him then hold him

hold the food out for him to take, make sure he knows you are the bringer of food, avoid see him unless you can offer food when you do. handle him. those ones are not typicaly handable.

try handling him more and hand feeding and this should help strengthen ur bond.
