Question:

My baby seems to constantly cry in the day but not at night???

My 2 month old baby has developed large bouts of constant, forceful, red faced crying since last week. He cries uncontrollably and seems to pass bottom wind more than usual when crying. He is still drinking all of his bottles and sleeps through the night.

Is this colic or something else?

Any remedies apart from infacol if this is colic?

Thanks

  1. I had this with my son. Hang in there, he will grow out of it. Please don;t think that the crying is a reflection on your parenting skills either.

Thomas was sensitive to cows milk and cutting out of my diet eliminated the colic and wind. He is now six months old and still, if I drink milk, he gets really gassy.

If you are formula feeding you will need to get one that is neither cows milk nor soy based. Speak to your doc or pharmacist about which one might be best.

You can also try giving baby fennel tea or chamomile tea as this is also supposed to help calm the tummy.

  2. LMAO Maybe cos he/she is tired at night soo dont cry!

  3. My Daughter for the first 3-4 months suffered with colic..cried all day always looked uncomfortable..pulled her knees up to her chest....red faced..clenched her fists...i tried infacol but wasn't good enough...colief works for come but is unpractical as you have 2put the drops in and wait half hr for them to mix in and when you have a screaming/hungry baby its very unpractical...I went docs few times and he eventually gave me gaviscon infant...what a LIFESAVER!!! you just put the powdered sachet into the cold bottle of milk and then warm....I kept her on this till 4 1/2 months as I was paranoid the colic would return lol....now she has solids as well as milk and is so much more content. happier and colic free...seriously mention it to your doctor it was the best thing for me and worked after 2-3days!!!

  4. At two months your baby will get very very tired every 2 hours and should go down for a nap so that he has 3 hour's sleep during the day.  Are you breastfeeding?  If so just have a wee look at your diet and make sure you are not eating too much chocolate or high fibre foods as this can cause wind in the baby.  I do hope you find a solution as a crying baby can be quite a strain and be very distressing for mum.

  5. sounds like colic.. my son had it real bad.. i tried everything..

they say the best is gripe water..it worked for a bit for my son but then completely started up again.

u should give it a try.

  6. this is diffenetly colic, im pregnant with my 3rd so im used to my kids having it, i found that nothing worked for it, until i came across somthing in the chemist called colief its £9.99 but you only have to giv it em a few times and it works a treat, its worth a try and saves you money trying all the different anti colic stuff out you can buy coz done worked for us either time. good luck,xx

  7. It will not last for ever. I had my little one at 16 and she was so colicky just like you are describing except she was up all night to. it gets better at about 6 months

  8. got no clue.  When you get an answer let me know.  My 15month old does that sometimes.

  9. did you ask its doctor !!!!

  10. He is gassy so try gripe water and that should help.  If it doesn't then it is just another stage kids go through and won't last forever.  Be thankful he sleeps at night!!

  11. It was colic for my goddaughter and gripe water worked for her. The chemist recommended it, I suggest maybe checking it out with the nurse/doctor before giving him colic stuff, although gripe water shouldn't do any harm anyway.

  12. sounds like colic to me...... The miracle helper for me for my daughters colic was, gripe water...... can be found at drugstores, its a bit expensive but one day i was desperate she had cried for 3 hrs straight, i took my crying baby to the drug store, got the gripe water gave it to her in the parking lot, she stopped crying w/in seconds and slept for 3hrs...... it was great! what it does is help to relieve gas....  I still use it when i know she's really gassy...... she no longer has colic. Also make sure he is not getting too much air with his bottles, that would explain alot of fussiness and passing gas...... there are bottles that are very good for this, the one i loved and suggest highly is playtex drop-ins because you can actually push all the air out..... it helped alot for my daughter!!! i tried many diff. kinds of bottles before finally trying these and seeing they worked the best. Also i'd suggest you call your ped. and make an appt. make sure there is nothing is wrong. and they do have colic drops that helps alot..

  13. My nephew used to do that, he grew out of it eventually.

  14. if you want your baby to stop crying then ive heard that if you cradle him in your arms and run some water in a tap then it soothes the baby and stops him crying.

    hope this helps

btw tell me if it works
