Question:

My back, right Wisdom Tooth just BARELY broke through the gum. If I haven't felt pain yet, will I?

I heard growing Wisdoms are not a fun time. I also heard a majority of the pain comes when the tooth is TRYING to break through. I was eating and kept feeling an irritation coming from back there, I finally checked because I wanted to make sure I didn't maybe get a piece of food jammed in the gum and I can see just a tiny bit of tooth, meaning the tooth broke through, so am I going to feel pain later on? Should I get it extracted or should I leave it? I feel nothing other than the irritation, but it's VERY minor, other than that I feel nothing...

  1. yep lol i did

  2. wisdom teeth dont nessesarily always hurt, it varies from person to person but if you are at all concerned then book an appointment with your dentist and they can do an x-ray of your mouth to determine where your wisdom teeth are.  Just be thankfull they aren't under your gum and causing you horrendous pain, because let me tell you getting those teeth out are not fun!

  3. You will feel pain when its growing in, but i have no idea how long that will take...

  4. Probably. I do with mine. I got four coming in.

  5. you will feel pain when it is coming in but not yet u still have a little time . but if u feel alot of pain i would go to the Doctor for some special pain relief medicine

  6. My wisdom teeth have been growing in for over 4 years very slowly. I was supposed to have them removed back then but insurance didn't cover it so I couldn't. They will randomly push through a little bit, sometimes making the whole side of my face swell for a few days, and then stop for months.

If you can go to the dentist and see about having them pulled I would recommend it. It's awful.

  7. I barely felt mine growing in beside the slight irritation when they first broke through. It might depend on how the tooth is oriented in relation to pressing against the other teeth though. If it starts to bother you or makes it impossible to clean your other molars, see a dentist about getting it removed. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

  8. Umm it hurts mine started to break through and i got it checked and they had to pull all 4.... Just go get it checked out.
