after practicing kicking, on the run, set shots, the bottom of my back really hurts. the next day is the most painful and i cant really bend down or do anything which involves even slight flexibility of the back. i think that it is mainly kicking on the run that screws up my back. can anyone give me any suggestions on kicking technique that could solve this problem???

  1. Well that teaches you to stretch before you play sport.

  2. Look it could well be a timing thing but the first step is to see a doctor.  If your back's stuffed you might have to be prepared to accept being an umpire or coach or something.

A common timing problem is like this.  You should kick AFTER your non-kicking foot is on the ground and launch from that.  A lot of young players kick too early in their stride as their heel is still going to ground.  This results in a c**p kick and a jarred back.

The other thing you might be doing is not following through straight!  That will starin your back like any twisting motion.

    See the quack first though.

  3. I'm familliar with your back problems, you might want to see a doctor for that, back pain is no fun, take it from me my back is wrecked from construction back in the 80's and early 90's. you need to do some strecthes in the morning and thru out the day, your hamstrings are so tight it's affecting your lower back and siatica  if that's how you spell it....anyway, to be on the safe side call your doctor

  4. you probably just have to stretch a bit more maybe give your back a bit of rest and think if the matress you sleep on is confortable and leaves your back in a good position

  5. If this has been going on for sometime i would see a doctor first who may refer you for xrays, he should any way.

Maybe it is an arthritic problem as i have the same thing, i was crunched from behind in a game 10 years back, i have arthritis from that injury, i know where your coming from spud, see a doc mate, then go from there, if it is arthritis, there is no cure, just pain killers or anti-inflammatory tablets.

  6. All i am hearing is Wah Wah Wah!! Try giving birth then we will talk pain. Sorry dude couldnt help myself.
