My back window was shattered and i know the guy who did it. hes been in trouble w/ the law...?

before and i dont want to escalate this any further. i have ins that will cover the damage, and i was thinking of chewing him out and telling him if he comes back around i will report him. is that a good solution? im not the kind that rats on people.

I am not that type of person either. The problem is if you do nothing about the situation, the person in question will believe that he can get away with doing these things not only to you but to others. I agree with your solution.

So you don't like to rat on people eh! Think about this then! So you give him a freebie, he's going to do it again, maybe not to you, but to somebody else! Are THEY going to be so kind?  I think not! If he has a rap sheet, he's bad news.  Chewing him out will only make him want to "teach" you a lesson! He could do worse than breaking a window.  You say you have insurance, how are you going to report it?  It broke by itself!?  Make a Police report then call the Insurance company and turn the bugger in!
