  1. Not to be the " Bearer Of Bad News" but you " Must" make every effort humanly possible to locate her. Because your mother ( the dog owner) is totally responsible for " Everything" she does even when she go out of your yard and is not in your control. If she breaks anything that owner can sue your mom & win. If she bites anyone, if she attacks another pet or pet owner...if she takes anything is even grounds for those persons to recover.

You should place a reasonable size ad in your Newspaper, you might want to call a local radio station ( that a lot of people listen to) and get the word out that way ( they may do it as a public service annoucement).

Notify the Animal Control Department, local Animal Shelters ( in case someone calls it in as a stray).

  2. I'm sorry your dog is lost.

Make signs with your dog's picture to put up in the neighborhood.

Talk to more neighbors and give them one of your signs in case they see your dog.

In the morning, call animal control and see if they picked up your dog.

Also, visit the animal shelters over the next couple of weeks to see if your dog was turned in.  Many of the shelters have a lost animal book for you to put your flier and your dog's description in.

If your dog had her collar on and there is a rabies tag or ID tag on it, you might get a call sometime tomorrow.

Also, if your dog was microchipped, you could get a call about her in the next few days.

    Good luck.

  3. She didn't have a collar around her neck with her license and ID?

I would get out and start looking for her. Put her picture out there so your neighbors can look too, but lots of people are afraid of pit bulls.

She will be picked up if she has no ID, so you might want to call the shelters and humane society too. I know how it feels to lose a pet. I really hope you will find yours very soon.

  4. Ashely, call the animal control people in your area and report your dog missing. They will help you look, especially because she is a pit bull. Take the best picture you have of her and make a sign -- make a couple of hundred copies and tack one to every pole in your neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. Good luck, Honey. I hope you get Lucy back safe and sound.
