My baitcaster reel (ambassadeur 4600CL3) will only cast about ten feet; I tried adjusting control k**b?

I have tried adjusting the cast control k**b all the way out and have oiled the reel with reel oil. It reels fine w/no resistance and drag works fine, but even w/ half ounce jighead, still can't cast it; it's like the centrifugal brake is screwed up or something

You can add some weight to the leader.  More weight will pull the line out farther.

Method of casting has some to do with it also.
