Question:

My ball python just threw up liquid?

she ate yeaterday, I did not handle her till thismorning and she threw up liquid on me, she is also getting ready to shed i noticed today, what is wrong with her?

  1. Hi I have 20 years of experience, a majority of which I have kept and bred ball pythons, if the liquid is clear and slightly sticky, then this is a sure sign of a cold, if not sticky then the snake may just have taken a drink, if it was just the snake drinking, then the water tends to just leak out of the mouth, with a cold the may wretch, listen to the snakes breathing, if they have a cold you can usualy hear it by what is known as popping, this is caused by mucas lining the airway and being sticky, as the snake breaths little bubbles of mucas pop, and can be heard, best of luck  


  2. she was probably stressed, if you try to handle a snake during  or near shedding it will most likely be stressed.

  3. ur not suposed to handle them for 2-3 days after feeding but i'v had a ballpython for a year and she has never threw up at all so i would bring it to the vet as soon as possible
