  1. try washing it down with vinegar and water.put in a spray bottle and spray and wipe down that will take away the smell.

  2. Ok so I know this might sound weird but I actually love the smell of basement! But I don't think there's much you can do to get rid of that smell, unless you have a finished basement which I doubt because then it wouldn't have a basement smell. Trying spraying air freshner or febreze.

  3. good answer from Boomrat... definitly get a dehumidifier I would also  seriously consider installing a window  that opens (a small casement cellar window) infact, add 2, that way you can get some cross ventilation

(if you open them). The dehumidifier is a huge energy hog, wait to you see your electric-bill after running that thing for a month. I still would use the dehumidifier to dry the cellar and get the musty smell out, just use it when you need to ... then open the windows and maybe use a fan to circulate the air

  4. Get a dehumidifier.  There is to much moisture in your basement.  After one day you should smell and feel difference.

  5. Try a dehumidifier.
