My bathtub is leaking out the bottom how do I shut off the water to the bath only?

How do I know if I have a shut off valve in the wall of the bathtub?

Follow your water pipe going to your tub in the basement until you come to a shut off valve,or you ma y have to  go to the main house one (I do)

The only way is to shut the whole house down.

Unless you have a valve with shut off stops in the wall (very unlikely) you have no other way to do it.

if you have a basement  look for where your water lines drop through the floor  then trace them back  looking for a shut off.  you will need to shut off a hot and a cold line  if your basement is finnished  you may see them all in the utility room  i know thats the new thing in all the new houses
