My bathtub won't drain?

My bathtub won't drain, I have to use a Wet/Dry Vac to suck the water out.. I have tried many different things like using a plunger and pre compressing the plunger, so it sucks up, but that did nothing. I tried Max Gel twice. Ive stuck a metal coat hanger down the drain far as I can go. Along with taking off the foot lock drain, and it didnt seem to do anything. WHAT ELSE CAN I TRY BEFORE CALLING A PLUMMER??

  1. Have you ever tried lye.  Put two or three big tablespoons of Red Devil Lye down there and see if that helps.  If not you might have to have a plumber run a snake down there.

  2. Use draino or liquid plummer that stuff works great

  3. if you can pull the drain cover try running a plumbers snake down the drain.

its worth a shot and a snake is a lot cheaper.(and may come in handy another day)

  4. then drink the water

  5. Call a plummer with a rotating snake cleaner (roto rooter). I have a feeling that your drain may be clogged with tree roots.

  6. it might sound crazy but i had the same problem once. my neighbor had a electric power washer , i think it was 1200 psi. i run the house through the bathroom window and i wraped a rag around the nozle so it would fit tight in the drain and blasted the clog out it only took one shot. i am not joking it really worked  hope this helps good luck.
