My bearded dragon! :(?

The red light in my beardies tank has burnt out. I don't have an extra bulbs. I can't exactly by a bulb right now because all the pet stores are closed, and it's pretty late. He hasn't eaten today, and there's a lot of crickets in there, so i don't want to take him out. I have a heating pad. It's working but it's only at 24.5, and it's staying at that temp.

What should I do? I'm really worried.

  1. get like a 80 watt light bulb and make it shien on him

  2. I think your dragon should be fine for one night just make sure the temperature and humidity stays at a decent level.  Don't worry healthy bearded dragons can be pretty resilient.

  3. Heating pads only heat the bottom 1/4" of the animal.

Light is the only way to raise temp effectively.

You can warm up the whole house to ~ 85 - 90 degrees, or use a white light.

Red lights don't give uv light, only heat.  I hope you have a uv light too.

try a hardware store or WalMart for a heat lamp.
