  1. York, Edinburgh, Chester or Bath all are full of history, have excellent restraunts and plush hotels.

  2. Try Hotel Aphrodite in Windermere, lake District England, check out the web site, (sorry don't know the web add, just put in google) you cant get much 'swankier' than that, you can choose from different themed rooms!!............enjoy!!!

  3. What about Gleneagles in Scotland it is beautiful there and very swanky xx

  4. What about a nice hotel in the Cotswold's? Or maybe try langtry manor hotel in Bournemouth? Check out the websites and read up.

You might also consider centre parcs as they have nice spa weekends?

Avoid Blackpool as it's a tacky flee pit.

  5. The Hambleton Hall is excellent and the food is amazing. It's in Rutland, Near Oakham. Good centre for going to a lot of places.

The other place you may consider is Norwich. If you haven't been, you are missing a great city. Lots of good restaurants, historic centre, 30 minutes from the sea and Horning, a lovely spot on the Norfolk Broads. There's a theatre, the playhouse and the Sainsbury centre at UEA is well worth visiting. Really friendly and very safe to wander out at night.

  6. Stay at the Dylan hotel in Dublin.

  7. my husband and i go to the castle green hotel in the lakes if we get a break without sprogs, very posh and we did get a few looks when we arrived in trainers but we had been travelling 7 hours to get there!!! food is great too

  8. Go to York, everything you would want there.

Hazlewood Castle is mentioned in the doomsday book and is now a 4 star hotel, so history and luxury
