My best friend and I are going to Dublin, Ireland to celebrate the 2009 New Year. Nightclubs?

I would also appreciate any other advice on which sites to see and where to find good food. We're also not big on beer.. they do serve liquor in Ireland, right? :)

I'm from Dublin and I wouldn't celebrate new year here, I think most Dubs gave up once the pubs started charging us to get in for the night,and it was impossible to get a taxi home.  

Having said all that if your staying in a hotel I'm sure they'll have something on for the night that should be good fun.  And you'll have great craic the other nights your here.

'they do serve liquor in Ireland right? I have to ask, are you really being serious? I can't think of any drink they don't serve.  Jameson whiskey is made here, you can visit the factory if you like.  

For some traditional music go to O'Sheas on the Quays, or the Cobblestone pub.  A good day trip out of the city go to Johnny Foxes

As for sites, go to Dublin castle, Guinness brewery, Kilmainham Gaol.
