  1. Get him to try it!

At least we'll get one liability off the road.

  2. he will be arrested or detained..until his guardian comes to get him...he will have his insurance canceled, his car impounded..and it will be a long time before any insurance company will insure him again..and it wont matter anyway because the state will take his D.L. away from him.....and the next time u will see him go by.......it will be on the bus...

  3. What a tool he is!   If I were him I should forget about driving, if he can't keep a LEARNERS' licence clean, he will not have a chance of getting and keeping a REAL licence clean.  Nine points on a provisional speaks volumes of his failure to grasp the fundamentals of safe and considerate road use.  His insurance quotes, if he passes a test and goes looking for insurance any time soon, will tend to be brief, bi-syllabic, and rhyme with "DUCK-COUGH"!

Personally, as a safe driver (25 years accident-free, with a clean licence) I hope this individual is kept off the roads, until he experiences a major change in his attitude.  And being caught driving on a provisional, unaccompanied, will mean he is without insurance.  He can expect his car to go through the crusher very shortly afterwards, as well as a large fine, a ban from holding even a provisional licence, and he will be heavily top-loaded for insurance for five years following the offence.

If he tries to drive on his own, slappp him up-side the head!

  4. If he gets stopped unaccompanied the world will become a safer place, he'll get banned.

I doubt that will stop him though. With 9 points on a provisional its highly likely he has no insurance today, who would touch him ?

Insurance policies state they you have to tell them as soon as you get points, not wait until renewal. I think we can pretty much guarantee he hasn't made that phone call.

  5. Unfortunately, the common law pratice with the DVLA and the police are you have up to 6 points when you learn and first pass your test for the first 2 years. If your friend has nine, he/she will have to wait 3 years to have them taken off before he/she, can even start to learn again, unless they have had the points on there for a while in which case, see how long for as they come off after 3 years. BUT law states no driving for him/her. You will be arrested and they will ban your friend for driving for a period of time. Dont risk it.

  6. yes i think he can...unless he hits 12 that is...the rule regarding any more than 6 points in the first 2 years is only for drivers who have passed there test NOT for learners...

  7. provided he hasnt had his license revoked then it is fine. if he is caught by police driving without a full license then they will prosecute - it really isnt worth it.
