  1. NO! you are not supposed to help her. If anyone "should" help would be her family. You may "want" to help but you dont "have " to help.

  2. No, you are not expected to pay for the wedding in any way.  And as her best friend your gift should be something thoughtful and personal, not just cash, unless she asks you for it.  You will probably be asked to help assist with the planning however, and might be asked to help to things on the day of the wedding.  Just ask if there is anything you can do and I am sure there will be plenty.

  3. Are you in her bridal party? If you're the MOH or a bridesmaid, you will need to chip in for her shower and/or bachelorette party. As for the actual wedding, you're under no obligation to help with financial costs.

  4. You left out a lot of information.

Are you in the wedding?  Then you have to help throw a party and then there's tux rental...etc...

If not then there is just a gift to worry about.

  5. no, you don't have to pay for your friend's wedding.  if you're in the bridal party, you'll have to pay for your dress or tux, shoes, hair and makeup if the bride wants that all done.  and you'll have to give a gift whether you're a guest at the wedding or if you're in the bridal party.  try to estimate how much she's spending on the reception- minimum $50 per plate.  if you bring a date, you have to double your gift amt.  if you're invited to the wedding shower, that's another separate gift.  so be prepared to shell out some $$$!

  6. are you part of the wedding party? if not, no you are not obligated to help her financially. if you are in the wedding there are certain things that may be expected of you. such as attire and pre-wedding parties

  7. Only if you are in the bridal party. You buy your own wear and stuff unless shes pays for it.

  8. Not really. I haven't heard anything like that. I guess its only if you want to

  9. No - as far as paying for the wedding. However, if you are asked to be a bridesmaid (or groomsman?), you will probably find yourself shelling out cash for pre-parties,  which can include showers and bachelorette parties. You will also likely have to pay for your wedding attire, and of course, purchase a gift.
