My best friend is in ireland from 5 days.. he has told me that a salary waiter is about 1600 euro..?

is it true?? we are Italian and here the medium salary is from 700 to 1100 euro..

  1. Yes, the salary is nice, but the cost of living in Ireland is much higher than it is in Italy. 1600 is only 2 weeks wages to an Irish person living in Ireland, if that.


  2. the minimum wage is €8.65per hour  so I would say a waiter would easily earn €10 per hour.

    It may seem like a lot compared to Italy, but it doesn't go far as Ireland can be an expensive place to live.

  4. before or after tax and what about the tips. I used to make about  15- 30 euro a day from tips. If he's in Dublin it's the most expensive part of an expensive country to live so he probably won't have a much higher lifestyle than in Italy and he'll have deal with the weather but if he saves his money what he's earned will be worth an awful lot more in Italy

  5. might get it in Dublin but waiters tend to get aprox 10euro per hr, in hotels etc
