My best friends dad..?

Question

My best friend is an only child & she lives with her mum & her mums friend, because her dad is.. ya.

Okay, thing is, she thinks he's dead, and I'm pretty sure her mum said that, but we were talking about it on Tuesday & she was saying how she thinks he isn't dead, and that he's out there somewhere, ect.

They're from England, but they moved here (Australia) when she was like 3.

His last name is O'Connall or O'Connoll or O'Connell or something along those lines.

Is there any way we could find out if he's passed away, or if he's still alive?

Perhaps an obituary thing?

Yes, I went through the same thing.  But I'm in the US.  I used his social security number.  This is how I got it:     Go on line to the social security office website, type in his whole name, birthdate, and place of birth.  It will give you his number.  Then call the offices and tell them you need to check to see if this person is alive.  They will tell you.

If you knew what part of England he was from you may be able to find contact information for their records office. They may be able to help you but im not too sure, its worth a try though
