  1. it means that they're comfortable and happy.

it is a bubble nest, they make it when they are ready the breed.

  2. congrats, you're about to become a parent!  after the nest is built the male will take the female there, fertilise her eggs, and then squeeze the eggs out of her

take the female out after the eggs are released

  3. Yes, it's called a bubble nest!

  4. Yes it is normal

On contrary to popular myth, females can also construct a bubble nest, although it's very rare, two of my female bettas did.

However is much more common for a male betta to make the bubble nest, and the female lays the eggs.

Your betta, if the fins are extremely long it is a male, but if the fins are smaller than the usual it is a female. If you google, female betta and male betta, you will see the difference. Bettas are one of the easiest fish to s*x, if not the easiest.

The behavior of making a bubble nest means your fish is ready to breed and you can see that his/her color is much brighter. I hope my information helped <33

  5. yes

  6. Yes it is because mine did to i think its because its making itself a home or almost like decorating for example when u get a new home you decorate it! but thatz my opinion not a fact i have no proof so dont hate if im wrong

  7. Yes, it is normal.

  8. yep...what they said...he's a mature male making a nest.

  9. Yes it is.  I'm guessing your Beta fish is brightly colored.  That means it is a male.  It is a process of breeding.  If your fish were in the wild, the bubbles would be used to trap eggs for insemination.

  10. well beta males make a bubble nest when they see a female or about to spawn.

they blow bubbles. just pop them and it will encourage him to make a better one

  11. It is normal

Male bettas do this so they cud put theyre eggs in the little bubbles

  12. Yes this is normal. You betta is a male and is making a bubble nest. If he is in view of another betta (female) than he is making the nest so that he can show her he is ready to breed. If he is not in view of another, he is having it ready incase any ladies decide to swim on by (sadly for him, he doesn't know they can't swim through the tank glass).

  13. Mine always did - I THINK that it's because it's a male fish, and they usually make a nest of bubbles for the female to lay her eggs in.

  14. It's a bubble nest.  When male bettas are of the right age and in good breeding condition and the water is right, they will blow bubbles on the water's surface to make a bubblenest.  It doesn't mean that they should be or need to be bred to a female, it's just an instinctive thing that they do.

If the male was to mate and spawn with a female betta, he would wrap himself around the female and squeeze the eggs from her beneath the bubblenest.  Then he would place the falling eggs into the bubble nest so that he could more easily guard them while they hatched and grew into fry.  The fry would then lie in the bubblenest with their little tails dangling down.  If any fell out, the male would catch them in his mouth and put them back in the nest.

Don't worry about disturbing his bubblenest or wrecking it when you do water changes.  He will probably continue to build new ones from time to time as he's in the mood.  Most male bettas do.

  15. are you sure they are bubbles? they could be eggs....

  16. yeah its a bubble nest it means its happy or it wants to mate
