Question:

My betta's bubble nest is not sticking together.

Hi I am breeding bettas and my female is displaying vertical bars,and my male is trying to build a nest, but his bubble keeps popping. there is little water movement.Is their any cure for this?maybe a floating plant?

  1. It is best if you put some sort of plant or leaf and he will build his bubble nest around or coinsiding with that, and it has less chance of popping.

You can use half of a styrofoam cup floating on the water but not too high because if he puts the eggs too high in the nest they will dry up.  A piece of floating bubble wrap is also good.  If you don't already have her in the same tank then try putting her in to stimulate the male into making a big bubble nest.  Make sure she is in something where he can't reach her.  You could buy floating breeder compartments where you can keep the female so they don't hurt eachother.
