I have a 5 gallon tank and it was being shared with a dinosaur eel(bichnir) I know they're semi-aggressive. When I bought the dinosaur to begin with the person at petsmart told me it would go fine with my betta in a 5gallon. I had it for a few days and just last night I noticed my betta's fins were all chewed http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v169/krissyd/P8200425.jpg so I bought bettafix today and returned the eel.. how long would it take for him to regrow his fins if I used the medicine every other day?

  1. Betta-Fix Remedy is an all-natural treatment made entirely of Melaleuca, a variety of tea-tree, so you don't have to worry about overdosing or overmedicating your bettas. But your guys tail will take a while to regrow. You should see some growth after a about a week or 2. It will be clear but the colour will come back. To get his tail completetly normal may take a couple of months although you do not need to be adding the betta fix for all that time. Just till the wounds all heal up. Also you may want to add some salt (make sure its natural) to the tank as this helps fish slime layer (kinda like immune system).

  2. Oh my goodness, I hope you complained to the management at that Petsmart. What idiotic advice you received!
