  1. ....the male collects the eggs by mouth and blows them into the bubble nest

....then he will hover around the nest and fan the water until the eggs hatch

....do you see a bubble nest?

....perhaps he is holding the eggs in his mouth, and he forgot to blow a bubble nest, due to ? immaturity perhaps?

  2. After you condition them for another 2 Weeks, yes. It is likely that a first time Betta father might eat the eggs the first time or the first few times. If he keeps eating the eggs after like...5 times I would stop trying to spawn him and move on to another female. Since the eggs are hard to see, just to be on the safe side, I would wait 2 days and see if you see hanging fry tail in the bubble nest.

Edit: don't listen to the people telling you to separate the dad from the eggs, because he will eat them. Male Betta's ( along with ALL bubble nest builder) protect the eggs and fry until they are free swimming, some species do eat eggs, but Betta's do not.

  3. you always need to remove the eggs or they will eat them and you can try to  bred again not sure if it will work right now might be too soon.  or sorry get the dad out of the tank fast

  4. Give him some time, condition both the male and female again for about 2 weeks, then try breeding again. If he eats the eggs again they either had fungus or he is an egg eater.

  5. He didnt eat the eggs. he stored them in his mouth until he's ready. Then he spits them out in his bubble nest.

but when u breed him again. watch out for the female. the male might kill her.

  6. Well shine a flashlight under the nest and see of there any eggs, but you could breed him again,i had 3 spawns in a month before!Everytime after a spawn, the female still had eggs so you can wait or try again!

  7. Better get the Dad out first though this time! *-*
