My betta fish i need help !?

Question

i'm 12 and my betta fish is moping

at the top of his tank his name is

Special and hes not happy anymore

my bro had a female betta but she died

he was happy the first 2 weeks after

she had died but then he got sad or depressed

think whats wrong with me betta pls help me

is he gonna dye ? hes the only thing i got now my bro

is annoying and my sister is gunna leave soon

my dad is in the navy and my mom is never home

my grandma is gonna move pls my betta is my life pls pls pls help

me pls i'm begging

probably he's depressed from the death of its girlfiriend. so i suggest you give it alot of attention, reasearch alot about it and get it a female. if you have any questions you could email me i'll be glad to help.

Special may just be bored.

Does he have artificial plants?

Does he have some type of rock formation?

Maybe he's just sick.

I bet he has Ick, which is very easy to cure.

Are the scales on and around his head unusually white?

If so, that's Ick.

Just go to Wal-Mart, and pick up some Ick Away. It's about $3, and works amazingly.

Well, despite what many people say, betas are very intelligent creatures who do not like changes in there environment. Changes  like that female not being there anymore can cause him to become sad for a while. A quick fix is to buy another female and put her next to him, a longer fix is to wait for him to snap out of it, but I say go for fix #1. If he does not snap out of it he could starve because he is depressed.

I would definately get another female. My female did this after my male died and they don't bounce back too quickly. Getting another female should take his mind off her for a while. Try feeding him meatier foods too like freeze dried brine shrimp or bloodworms. Every betta goes crazy over that and could maybe help cheer him up a bit.

Wow i feel your pain my betta fish just died .I'm 10 i'm going to be 11 soon but wow. I'm here to help um if you check his tale is there like a lil' hole because my betta lost a bit of his tale and he would spin everywhere. Go to petco and tell them ur situation and they'll help you
