My bf addicted to X-box live...pls help!?

he's on it 24/7 and its causing problems between us. he doesn't see it as a problem and keeps telling me its not a bad thing cuz he enjoys it and why can't i respect what he likes doing. if he was on it a reasonable amount, i'd understand but whenever he is home he just sits on it!

he hardly calls me and when i do call him, he's on the game and not concentrating on what i'm saying.

he got rid of his first x box last year and just recently purchased another one...argh!

need some advice...please help

x-box live they can be bad my bf loves it but because we have had problems i sat down and spoke to him and let him know what i seen it doing to our relationship and i said if you really want this to work you have to pull up on the playn and we worked around it he now playes if for hour or so when he gets home then the nite is to us on the weekends he playes it longer but never more then 2 hours at a time after that time he gets up and helps me or just spends time with me and another thing he ask why you cant respect him with what he likes doing well what about what you like doing seem to me if he is on it 24/7 then he is not really respecting what you like doing good luck with it all darl

Video game addiction is real.  Leave him and see what the reaction is.  If he has become a zombie the what is the point of being with him anyway.  He needs to learn to balance playing video games and life.

well you either wait it out and used 2 be kinda addicted to my xbox live but gradually got over it and then sold it. So you can wait out and let him get bored. Or ask to play with him (On the xbox!) you will be spending time together and he will be less addicted. Or threaten to leave!

but he owns even an online game where he can finally waste his life in!!

we argued a lot and to me there isn't much to do.

Just switch off the electricity and wishing you luck for the rest of the night have your night!

lol before those remedies, try to talk to him, how your feeling and so on..

i hope your not jumping into a game addicted like is mine..

coz u'll go through a lot of stupid arguments and problems for nothing!

lol, some guys just love these video games, including myself. Actually there's no reason to worry, unless he spends the whole of the day on it. Then, you should get him off that chair - somehow. Take him to places where he'd enjoy, if he's into shopping, go for it. As he spends less time with it, he wouldn't be addicted any more.

oo btw, those ultimatums won't work, ofcourse he would prefer you over his xbox, but it doesn't mean he will suddenly stop his addiction over it.
