My bf is a green card holder in US..?

Question

My bf is a green card holder in US. Can a foreign national like me go to US under tourist visa and get married there? So that after marriage he can file a petition for me to live in US as well? Both of us are Filipinos but I'm currently working in Singapore.. Please help.. We dont know which option to take.

Well if your in Singapore and he is Canadian, why in Allahs name would you want to go to America?

You can get married in the US.  However, since he is not a US citizen, an immigrant visa number won't be available for you for - at current calculations - about five years.  You will not be able to stay in the US for that time, unless you are entitled to stay under another status.  So you can marry in the US, but then you will have to return home and wait for your priority date to become current.
