  1. Housing and food allowance will be given to him and you. Housing allowance will be taken if you move on post

    Vet-USAF / also a military Brat

  2. Yes, he will receive more money and benefits, because of his family responsibility.

  3. Yes and you will get paid housing allowance, which depends on where you live.

  4. Yes, he will receive a bit more pay, just enough to cover your living expenses (housing and food).  The other benefit is that he will be able to move off-base sooner than single Soldiers, and when you move to be closer to him, your moving expenses will be covered.

    Good luck!

  5. Ok the guys give general info, which in most cases doesn't satisfy us women. Yes he will receive more money. He will get a food allowance and then BAH (basic allowance for housing). It is more with dependents and depends on where you live. If you live on post housing then you wont see the money. If you live off post it will be deposited into his account. My husband is 11B Infantry. Has been active duty for ten years, we have been married five. If you have any more questions give me a shout.

  6. There will be more money in his paycheck, yes, but it isn't really more because it's for housing, which of course you have to turn around and pay to someone else.  He will also get seperate rations (pay) which is for the cost of food (for him).  Be careful with your money.  A lot of younger married types in the military get into drastic financial problems, and everyone just assumes they don't get paid enough money.  But that's not really true, they make enough money, but you have to live within your means.  This means you don't go out and buy cars and furniture and other expensive items.  You live cheap, as if you are literally poor, save money, be in save mode, not spend mode and wait for things until you can actually afford them.  Best of luck.
