My bf is entering the navy how long are they usually gone for?

i am only 15 he is 18 we have been together since i basically was born i love him to death and i we live in seperate states, so i am worried he will be less available in the navy, how often are they gone for?

unfortunately all of the branches army, navy, air force...are deploying regularly. navy fleets are usually gone for several months at a time. sorry.

if he is stationed on a ship he will definitely go on at least one 6 month deployement

well i herd storys of them going back for at least three terms....h**l be here for one month every 2 years....h**l never be set free from the governments clutches now.....he's their property.....im not kidding.

i spent 10 yrs in the navy..i loved it..served proudly..back in the vietnam era..it depends on what type of ship he is on..different ships deploy for different lengths of times..i have been gone for as long as 1 1/2 yrs and as little as a couple of weeks..unless he is on a special mission he should be aloud to tell you..with todays computers and cell phones i'm sure you guys should communicate..when i served..all we had was letters...every body misses his/her service person when they are away..specially when you have no idea what is going on..just go on with your life and be proud of him..tell him not to be ashamed of throwing up over the side of the ship..most everybody does it once..

Wow, 15!  You are so young and so is he.  Usually they are deployed for 6 mos. at a time.  However, they also mobilize before deployment (approx. 6 weeks) then demob. for 2-3 weeks when they return.  If this man is going to be your "forever"  then you will need to learn to cope.  Mine is deployed to Iraq right now (for the 3rd time).  It is never easy.  But, you have to remember, he is feeling as alone as you are.  And, often they have time to write regularly and e-mail and call occasionally (depending on his position).  Good luck!  Be strong!
