Van Helsing is nothing more than a character from Bram Stoker's movie "Dracula".  Someone then decided that it would be a good idea to make another movie about him.

Bigfoot, El Chupacabra and all the others are legends that are not proven to be true.  There are some people who claim to have seen them, but there is no actual proof.

So your brother has all right to not believe in them.

He's right, they're not.  They are just made up characters to scare children and for made-up stories to entertain.  Nothing more.
