  2. just. ummm....pat it on the back!

  3. They can usually get whatever it is out. Dont give water it may aspirate it. Open its beak and see if you can see what it is and try to get it out. It may vomit or reguritate it. Can try to pick bird up and hold head in two first fingers and swing it back and forth some to see if it can expel whatever is in there. Gently. Other than that there is not much to do but hope and pray it will expel this out. It is scary I know mine have choked in the past.

  4. i dont know if this might work

but hang it upside down and press his/her stomach

  5. maybe try taking it out with some tweezers.

birds do get attached. My aunt had two birds and when one of them died, the other one stopped singing completely. If the other is really depressed, then try getting another bird. It is not going to be the same, but you can give it a shot.

  6. If your bird was actually choking, only a vet can help it.  Water can make the situation worse and you can aspirate him.  There are emergency vets, but if it is choking, it may be too late .  The CPR sites are ok, but if the bird is choking, the air way must be Cleared first.  CPR is useless if there is something stuck, and CPR can actually cause what ever is stuck to become pushed further into the trachea where a vet possibly may not reach it.  Don't try things like this unless you know what you are doing and know for sure there is nothing in the airway.  Please read my profile.

  7. Get it to the vets quick....they may be able to sedate it and remove the obstruction

  8. I would try the water thing and taking out of the cage to see if it really is choking. My budgie does a motion now and then like he's choking - he did it once when I was worming him and another time when I sprayed with lice and mite spray. I dont think he likes the taste/smell. He's still alive though!! I pray your little feller is still ok...

  9. i suggest using a syringe and force some liquid doown so it can go to its stomach.
