My bird layed an egg and i dont want it the eggs is on the ground?

I have birds, and if you will catch the egg on the ground with in 30 minutes ar 1 hour. I us a paper towel and pick the egg up with it and place it in the nest. I have hatch out several like that. I have owl Dove's . I have 6 of them and now they one of them are setting on 3 eggs. I have had them for several years now. So I think that I should no, and it takes 21 days for them to hatch. the most simple way to do it is trow it away and the most simple thing to do now is give me best answer :)

don't throw it away, let it hatch

if after a month it dosen't hatch  throw it away

to prevent any ''accidents" take it off the ground

if you don't want the baby bird take it to the humane society

Did it mate first?  Because if it did, then there is probably a chick growing in there.

If you want the bird to stop laying, replace it with fake eggs, or else it will lay eggs continuously.  Ask for them at any pet store.

They'll catch on, but throw it away.
