I just gave my birds carrot to eat this morning, then when i looked at their poo a few hours ago i realised it was browny/orange...

Is this bad? Or is this okay?

I am really worried.. because their poo was green before i fed them the carrots.

My birds are budgies, by the way.

  1. well i cant say anymore than the person above .but if the poo doesnt change within 75 hours then u need a vet as this can be a very serious infection.

  2. in a few days this will stop it is just becuse of the food they eat do not worry it is no big deal

  3. Some foods will change the p**p to the color of the food for a while.  So it can look really scary if they eat something red, but if it looks normal again after a while of not eating carrots, then that's definitely what it was.  If it persists even if they're not eating the carrots, though, then call an avian vet.

  4. Color in - color out.  Brightly colored foods will come out a similar color.  Food coloring in pellets is the worst.  Red pellets make red poo.

    Nothing to worry about.

  5. lol sometimes new food, or food they havnt had in awhile can change their poops for a few hours,   im sure they are fine, just keep an eye on it  goodluck   check out http://parrotcentral.net/parakeets.htm for good budige info

  6. I does depend on what they eat at a young stage but after 70 hours if the poo hasn't changed colour contact a vet as it may lead to bigger problems
