My green birth certificate which was used in processing of my passport stated the wrong date but now that I have the SECPA which notes the right birthdate, I don't know how to change it with the DFA.

  1. Naturalized and native-born United States citizens should take these steps to correct passport data:

    1) Complete form DS-5504 (found in the following link).

    2) Show documented evidence to correct earlier recorded mistakes, for example, provide a valid birth certificate.

    3) Furnish two recent photographs.

    4) Send all of the above to the issuing Passport Agency/Center.

According to the web site below, you won't be charged a fee to correct a wrong birth date.

  2. you need to go to the post office,or wherever you got it from, and take it up with them. There may be ramifications, because, they do make you verify the information when they process your application.
