My black suede shoes have faded areas. What to do?

They are a comfortable Clarks pair and I really would like to keep using them. First they were evenly black all over, but now some parts are faded. Felt pen will ruin it i guess, how about black shoe polish - very little. What ideas do you have?

Try just rubbing them lightly with a damp cloth. If that doesn't work then I would use black shoe polish and then wipe them over with a cloth.
