My blackberry cd-rom isn't working?

so i just bought a new blackberry and i want to connect it to my computer with the cd-rom. i followed the directions by plugging the usb cord to the phone and the computer and i popped the cd rom in. i get this pop-up saying the usb doesnt register. so i dont understand when its all brand new. any help guys?!

i have had my blackberry for 4 days and that happened to me too.

i unplugged it.

removed the cd.

popped the cd back in.

then plugged in my phone.

it worked fine after that :]

You need to install the Blackberry software BEFORE you plug the Blackberry into the computer.

The Blackberry software will load drivers into you computer so it can recognise the Blackberry.  Without those drivers, the Blackberry is an unknown device.

So...

Disconnect the Blackberry.  Leave it disconnected until the last step.

Put in the CD ROM.

Install the software from the CD ROM.

When that's done, start Blackberry Desktop on the computer.

Plug the Blackberry in at that point.  You should then be ok.
