I don’t understand. I just got this phone about a month ago and already I have had it replaced once and gotten a new sim card and now I am having this shutting down problem. I can be talking on the phone, emailing or just going through my emails and it will shut down and not power back on, I have to press the power button for it to turn back on. I have noticed that it happens when I am out in the sun, is this possible? I have called tmobile and they are sending me a new battery but I don’t know if that’s the problem. I have done the application loader about 3 times and nothing helps. Any body experience this?

  1. Charge it more.

  2. I had a similar problem and still do not know what caused it. I removed the battery, sim card, and memory card and let the phone "cool down" for a few minutes and let it boot back up. It is called a Hard Reset, and solved my problems.

  3. Do you have a microSD memory card in the device? If so, have you formatted it in the device, or did you just put it in? If it wasn't formatted in the device then I would format it again.

If that doesn't work or isn't applicable, you might try upgrading to the latest available operating system. I am running 4.5.0.55 on my Curve 8320 (T-Mobile), which you can find a link to on BlackBerryForums.com.

  4. Sometimes you need to charge the battery and let it run out a couple times before it can be used to maximum efficiency.  Did you let it run completely out?
