My blackberry wont charge.?

Ok I have a at&t red blackberry pearl. When i plug it in it says that it is charging but within five seconds it stops saying that. what do i do? also it says data service denied what does that mean?

your charging issue  look in side the charging port  to see if any of the connection ports are damaged. if so your screwed.  data service denied  i never  seen that  sorry cant help there
