My boss and I got food poinsoning last week after eating at the same place, is there anything we can do?

My boss and I had lunch at a Gyro place last friday and both became violently ill over the course of the weekend with food poisoning. It ruined my entire weekend and I am wondering if their is anything I can do to get back at place? Anyone have any ideas?

Should have gone into the place and gotten sick in their bathroom.  You stinking it up would have taught them a real lesson.

In Canada...you can call Capital Health and a health inspector will go to the site within twenty four hours.  

If the restaurants standards are really low, they can be temporarily shut down to get the place cleaned up.

If you got food poisoning, Capital health may run some tests...but usually when the tests are conducted the virus has already passed thru your body.  They can test various items at the restaurant, but it's still really difficult to determine where the actual food poisoning came from.  In your case, it probably was from the restaurant, but you would never be able to get any evidence showing it was from that restaurant.  So..essentially there is nothing you can really do.  

I've worked in the food industry for many years, and when people claim they have gotten food poisoning from my restaurant, I just tell them I'm sorry.  I know that my restaurant can't be held responsible because the customer has consumed other foods before and after coming to my place.

What food where you eating? If it was fish or meat it might be salmonella. You can't really do anything to the restaurant, unless they undercooked your food. If they didn't undercook your food it's probably the food they boughts fault.

If you went to the doctors or hospital you can file a law suit claim easier. Immediately write the course of events with the a time frame on  legal paper (yellow binder paper) Notify the Gyro place in writing what happened to you and mail it to them with a registered post office letter

Report them to your counties health Department and explain what happened. Do you still have the receipt? Keep IT

You can only do something if you went to the doctor. You two could have gotten a virus from each other otherwise. You have to have proof.

well not to get back at them but you could report it to the health dept. so no one else gets sick.
