My boss has engineered me out of the department to save his mate?

I have recently been put in danger of Redundancy, initially I was selected unfairly but as I complained my company widened the selection pool but then scored me low in the selection process.

When the remaining colleague asked how he would cope with the workload he was told that another employee will pick up my work in addition to his existing role, this guy should already have been selected due to his role but has not been chosen, they are offering me up to save someone else who should really be directly effected. This hole process was engineered and it stinks
