  1. federal law requires him to give all employees a 60 day notice ,so you can find work elsewhere, under the " workers adjustment retraining notification act.,i check you state workforce development http://www.edd.ca.gov/fleclaim.htm  otherwise here the ca. state main page :http://www.labor.ca.gov/

  2. Have him to give you a letter stating that he is closing the business.  You will be able to draw unemployment benefits without waiting for two weeks before the benefits start.

Go to the department of employment and file your claim right away. Your benefits are based on your earnings in the last three quarters.  There is a maximum amount that they pay out.

There is an excellent resource for jobs and training at no charge.  One Start Centers are all over California and other states.

  3. dont file the payments are poor ask for a letter of recomendation. if your boss is closing down he will have to pay you a redundancy check invest that money in night classes or a one day course and work somewhere anywhere till you can find a similar job. employers in the future will be far more likely to hire you if you consistantly hold employment have some form of qualification and a letter of recomendation in todays economy you want that.

  4. I sorry this is happening to you. But you could apply for Unemployment Compenstion online at this webiste:
