Im 21/female. I enjoy my life. I work 4 days a week, sometimes go shopping or to see a movie with my friends. And sometimes go out and have fun on a saturday night with them. I don't have any 'hobbies' as such. I mean, I enjoy reading, cinema, computers etc. But almost every day at lunch my boss is always questioning me on my hobbies. I tell him I don't have hobbies, but I do go out at the weekends with my friends. Im just not into sports or clubs or anything like that...And he's always saying "the years will fly by and you wont have done anything". Wtf?? I hate him saying this. If i dont want to join things whats the big deal?? I have fun other ways...even if that is just going out with friends, enjoying myself...Am I right?

  1. You're both right. You're right that you have every right to live your life however you'd like to, as long as you're not hurting anyone else, but he is also right that you may get to a point where you're like, "What have I done with my life?". This has happened to me, particularly during my last year of high school, like you say, I didn't join any clubs or sports or anything, at the end of my junior year going into my senior year it really got to me, and I stumbled through my senior year making transparently phony moves to join the right clubs and make the right friends. Post graduation, it gave me a lot of time to reflect, and made me realize that I was never that interested in joining groups, I'm more independent.

So, as long as you're happy, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But don't be so stubborn and set in your ways that you're not open to new experiences.
