My bottom eyelid is swollen. It's not a sty...what is it?

I wash my face with face wash that I have been using for a while and I haven't had any weird reactions to it, but tonight, after I washed my face, I went to bed and the area underneath my eye started to itch. When I got up to see what was wrong, the "bag" under my eye was swollen. It's just one eye and I know it's not a sty because I've had them before.

The only thing I can think of is an allergic reaction to something. Like a bug bite or food. I ate a dessert that MIGHT have had nuts in it (I'm allergic) but it was hours ago and nothing happened after I ate it. And as for the bug bite, as far as I could see, I couldn't find a puncture spot from a bug bite.

Anyone have an idea?

if you wake up in the morning and there's matter in your eye it's pink eye  in this  case you will have to go to your doctor and get some medication. in any case if its still bothering you in the morning or next day se your doctor,don't play with your eye site

It's probably an infected hair follicle. Be careful not to irritate it too much but if you can try to find that eyelash, usually you can tug on them to find it. Just pull it out and give it a little time to heal.

Sounds like an allergic/histamine reaction, especially if it responds to Benadryl (I hope you carry an "epi-pen" for nut accidents. These can be weird sometimes--Once I woke up with a swollen lower lip, and 2 wks. later my bro. woke up with a swollen upper.
