My boyfriend's nephew got hit but he doesn't have car insurance.?

my boyfriend and his nephew were involved in a hit and run. however, his nephew doesn't have car insurance, will this have an a negative turn out for him??? i don't care about the other guy having or not having insurance...but will his nephew get in trouble? we live in California, it is illegal to have a car with no car insurance, registration, and license. please help!!!

  1. Do you mean legal trouble if he reports this to the police? then the answer is maybe

    it depends on the police officers handling the case some may ticket him for not having insurance others might not.

    if the police don't get involved it is likely there won't be any legal problems but he won't have any hope of getting reparations from the guy that hit him.

    Regarding other non-legal negative turn outs (other than the fact he got hit) that is to ambiguous of a statement to know. It's possible something bad things could happen as a result.

    For future reference please be a little more specific with your question as "a negative turn out" is too vague of a term.

  3. The least that can happen to him is they can fine him with a ticket, tow the car or take him to jail for just one day. IDK how it is in Cali. but thats how they treat us in TX.
