My boyfriend and I are expecting twins...trying to decide on names?

My boyfriend is a tattoo artist and I manage his shop, so names that are too traditional are out of the question. I've listed some of my favorites below, but if you have any other ideas i'd love to hear:) It's definitely a boy and a girl...so pairs of names are appreciated:):)

1. Marleigh and Mayson

2. Lakora and Loklen

3. Summyr and Satern

4. Calleda and Cade

don't name your twins matching names!

I have two twin friends who are named Matt and Mia and they HATE being matching, especially even moreso when we became teens. It is embarrassing for them, and groups them together when they want to be separate individuals.

Gemini (Gem/Jem) and Genessee or Genesis (Genna/Jenna) would be really cute.

Gemini means "twin", Genessee means "beautiful valley", and Genesis means "beginning".

Of your choices I like 2 best (Lakora and Loklen), although I love Satern as well :)

I also like anagram names for twins (same letters, rearranged)

Aerik and Kiera, Raine and Arien etc. - they sound different, but are still similar

1.Mason (Mayson looks too girly for a boy) and Marleigh- Love these names.

2.Lakora is pretty. For the boy spell it Lachlan or Lochlan, its still an unusual name but if you spell it your way it looks too weird and nobody will ever spell it right. Sorry but it will make you and your child look like you are not smart. I really love the name Lachlan, its very cool.

3.  Summer right? Again unusual spellings are fine but sometimes (in this case) it makes the parent look like they can't spell.

4. I really like Calleda and Cade. Calleda is unusual and very pretty.

Congratulations! I am so glad that your arent doing traditional names! I love when people go not traditional. When i have kids i would do the same. Your ideas are amazing!

1. Marleigh and Mayson- Its very unique and adorable. I think that it is definitely not traditional. I really like the name Mayson. This would be my number one choice out of those four! I also think these set of names bold but not too bold for the name!

2. Lakora and Loklen- It seems as if too me that both of these names would get teased. What i do like about this name is that you would never find it anywhere else. Your child could really never be compared.

3. Summyr and Satern- Summyr is a great name for your daughter. It is my favorite for the girls out of the choices. I really like how it is spelled. Satern is a very unique and special name. It has a special sound too the name.

4. Calleda and Cade- I abusoulutly love these names.  This is my number too choice. The reason it would not be my number one choice is that Calleda and Cade look and can kinda be too much alike. But the are both extremly unique and very bold. I like the boldness of the names.

Marleigh and Mayson are my favorites! I like how they're not spelled how it's traditionally spelled.

Summyr and Satern are my second favorites. Except, I think that the Y in Summyr is a little too much. I think you should try spelling this one traditionally.

Calleda and Cade come next. I love Cade but Calleda isn't my favorite.

Don't like Lakora and Loklen.

While I appreciate your desire to have names that are unique, I think that choosing a "unique" name AND messing with the spelling are a bit much.  Giving your child a name like "Saturn" is unusual enough--there is no need to misspell it on top of that.

I would also caution against giving them "matching" names--names that rhyme, themed names, names that start with the same letter, etc.  The names should go together stylewise, but they shouldn't make the children sound as though you view them as part of a matching set.  They are individuals, and their names should refect that.
