My boyfriend and I got into an odd conversation tonight...?

Talking about baby names for when we start our family (no judgements, we're young, but waiting...we just happened to have this silly conversation). We're set on Sirius James, Lillian Dale, David Paul, Elizabeth Grace, Tyler Hale and now we're talking about Janet as a first name, but can't think of a good middle name. Any ideas? We want three children, but we're going back and forth to find six names so we're prepared if we get all of one gender.

  1. Hmm...Janet Rose**, Janet Lynn, Janet Minh,Janet Louise, or Janet Taylor.  I guess that's all I can think of.

  2. Did you realize you posted this in the genealogy forum, not the baby names forum?  That in and of itself makes you appear less intelligent.  Genealogy is not the study of names and genealogists do not care about these silly things.  Most of the people who answered this with some type of opinion on what name they like are clueless juveniles who also don't know anything about what genealogy really is.

  3. Please, do NOT take this the wrong way, but did you look up the meaning for "Sirius"?? If not, www.babynames.com has this description:

"The meaning of the name Sirius is DOG STAR.

The origin of the name Sirius is Greek ,

Brightest star, also known as alpha Canis Majoris (Dogstar),which was named after the Greek God, Osirus."

No pun intended, but would you seriously want to saddle a little boy with that first name?? You need to look ahead at when he's in school and other kids are teasing him about his name.  My nephew wants to name his first son Tatum, and my brother--his Dad--is having fits because he KNOWS the poor little guy will be known as TATER (as in "potato") all his life.

I like the name SKYLAR (an American name meaning "Scholar"; and is a  form of Schuyler) myself, and it could be a first or middle name--JAMES SKYLAR, or SKYLAR JAMES). Or Skye, which  is Scottish & used as a short form of Skylar--could be used as  his nickname.

The meaning of the name Janet is "God Is Gracious" (my name is one form of it and means the same thing). Then, carrying out the "theme" so to speak, I like MAKAYLA, meaning is "Who Is Like God?"  It is a form of "Michaela",and I think it has a "ring to it"--Janet Makayla.

  4. I see you guys are Harry Potter fans! =)

    Janet Jamie

i'm sorry, I'm not so good with names.. lol
