We have a child togather, and we just recently decided it would be a good idea to get married. Well he is currently on active duty in Germany, and we arent sure of when he will be home but we wantto get this done so he wont miss seeing his son growing up. I want to know a quick easy way for us to get our passports and get married. my email is cynthia112806@yahoo.com Thanks

  1. When he gets back, head to the courthouse.

  2. Getting married isn't going to help him from missing his son growing up. The only thing that would do that is if you move to Germany. Granted, it would be easier to do that if you were married - then you could move into military housing.

Passports take 3-6 months to get. You should go down to your local courthouse and apply for you and your child.

  3. There is no quick and easy way to get a passport.  I don't even know the rules for getting a passport for a child, but you can easily get this at your local courthouse.

  4. If he is in Germany, he doesn't need to get a passport; he either has one or was transported there through the military.  If he doesn't have one (rare) he can see his superior to make the arrangements there.

If you plan to travel to Germany, you need to apply for your passport. You need to have your birth certificate (NOT birth registration).  Many people do not check to see if they have the official birth certificate so 1st check to see if you have the original birth certificate.  If not, order it asap. You can do it online or, depending on where you live, you could go and pick it up at the building.  The website for birth certificates will tell you where and the cost.

You need a photo for your passport.  AAA or other places can take the picture for you.  There is a small fee.  Make sure the place actually does passport pictures.

Find your state's webside for passports and find out what post-office accepts the information.  Take it all there and send it away.  It may take a few months.  YOu MAY be able to do this in a building, depending on the state and where you live.  You can put  a rush on a passport, but you will pay extra.

Once you have your passport, travel to Germany, marry in the base chapel (your fiance will have to set that up).
