  1. well, is your boyfriend an American citizen, another foreign student, or someone back home? It makes a great deal of difference in the answer.

  2. First thing you need to do is not overstay or violate your F1 student visa.

Since the F1 is a non-immigrant visa you technically violate it by getting married with the intention to stay.

Your best bet if you intend to reside in the US, is return to your home country and then apply for a a K1 visa assuming your boyfriend is a US citizen.

If both of you are here on non-immigrant visas the situation becomes a whole lot more complicated.

Just so you understand the immigration department does not take a positive view when someone enters on a temporary student visa and then gets married with the intention of obtaining permanent residence.

  3. i think you can apply for a status change cheak with an imigration attorney

  4. If he is an american cit. you really should apply for a fiance visa which will take about 6 months to get (you'll may have to go home if your student visa expires by then)  Once that is approved you have to get to the states before the fiance visa expires about 6 months, then once here you have to get married within 90 days of arrival.  Once married you will have to file I-485 (adjustment of status) It cost about $1000.  You will get your work permit (takes about 3 months, and travel document so you can travel outside of the US). Good luck do everything they tell you do to, go by the book even if it means being away from your faince for a little bit.  You don't want Immigration on your bad side.
