My boyfriend cheated but i forgave him HELP??

Hello,

i ahve been with my partner for 5 years, as far as i know he has been TOTALY faithful.... but a few weeks ago i found out he cheated on me while he was on a trip to thailand for a mates birthday *i know what your going to say who would let their partner go over seas without you* but i had no reason not to trust him, so he cheated on me while he was there and then he cheated on me one night when he went into the city with the same girl that he meet in thailand *she was fron here*..... i forgave Him, and layed some ground rules as such he can not travel without me, and so on.... but i just cant get over it i love him and want to get throw it and forget all of it, but i cant trust him and i just dont know how to get over it. i really dont know if i being SELFISH??? or is it normal to not get over it???

PLEASE HELP!

I think its pretty normal not to get over it but with time you should and its going to take effort on both parts because the trust you had in him will have to be rebuilt. Also, I think knowing why he cheated on you in the first place will help. But if you dont get over it your relationship will not work out because there will always be the whole trust issue.

That's normal to feel that way, you've been betrayed and you've lost that certain level of trust. so its gonna be hard don't feel guilty or selfish u have the right and if u really want to stay u can try but it will be hard to get that trust back because you'll think that's what he's doing all the time, if u really want it talk to him and try to work through it but if u find u cant maybe u shouldn't stay.

Ok I am going through the same thing and YES its hard to get over it. It will be hard to get over but with time it should get better.  If he is insuring you by his actions that he is faithful and you trust him then things will get better.

On the other hand if he is giving you doubts and his actions are showing otherwist then you need to move on.
