My boyfriend has pneumonia is it possible I can caught it?

Possible, not likely. I would still wash my hands after I visit with him, though.

There is a very small chance you can catch your boyfriend pneumonia. What is more likely than that, is to catch the illness that sparked the pneumonia in the first place. Usually those who are around a person with pneumonia tend to catch the cough and cold part of the virus. Only in rare cases does it morph into full-fledged pneumonia. It also depends on how susceptible you are to catching colds and viruses. If you get sick often, I'd say take more precautions such as washing your hands and eating well while you are around him.

2.I think it might be contagious,so I would try to be very careful around him.(pneumonia is a pretty nasty condition...)

Pneumonia is not contagious, but the virus that bought it on in the first place may be. If you did get the virus, (say the flu) then it does not follow that you will get pneumonia.
