  2. All Canadians need a passport to go to the U.S.A. if they are flying. If he is a Canadian citizen he will not (as of yet) need a visa to travel across the border by automobile, but he will to go by plane.

  3. Unlike US green card holders (they don't need a visa to visit Canada) Canadian PR's do need a visa to visit the US. I know that sounds weird but that's what it is.

  4. He will need a passport (even U.S. citizens need a passport), and yes, he will need a visa as well.
