  1. A royal flush is ace, king, queen, jack, ten of the same suit.  You can play for years and never see this hand, that's how rare it is.  I've never had one in a live game, only online (where you get to play more hands and so have a greater chance of seeing the unlikely happen).

In any case, before you can really learn poker, learn the rank of the hands.  Concentrate on full houses or lower, because getting four of a kind or better is something that rarely happens.

See link to learn the ranks.  Once you've done that learn how kickers work and when they are used.  Then kick your boyfriends butt at the poker table!

  2. If you're anything like any woman I've tried to teach how to play, he probably already told you that the rank of cards is A-K-Q-J-10-9... and that a royal flush is an A high straight flush, and thinks that you should be able to figure out that it includes the J on your own.

  3. Yes.  This hand is the most difficult to get in texas holdem.  But because of this, nothing can beat it.  Ever.

  4. Royal flushs is a 5 card straight from ace through ten, so to answer your question. Yes, there is a Jack. Also note that you gotta have all suites the same also. This is by far the most difficult hand to get in poker.

  5. it is yes 10-ace same suit
